Story:In Total War: Shogun 2 you choose from one of 9 (10 with Ikko-Ikki dlc) clans, each with their own unique traits and skills and each with their own RPG-style warlord to lead them. Use a mixture of diplomacy, political manoeuvring, province building, research and special agents such as Ninja assassins or Geisha spies to get your enemies exactly where you want them. An intuitive user interface and a lovingly-created, complex and detailed campaign map make it both easy and enjoyable to build and run cities, recruit and move troops and issue commands – both noble and dishonorable, all with the aim of mastering enemy forces and seizing their lands.Show more

This is the best Total War game ever made, along with the expansion. The only thing that should be improved is the diplomacy, could be a perfect game if it worked better. You could fight incredible medieval fights and with the expansion, even experience firearms. Each faction has it's bonuses, agents of many kinds, you could send units without generals to defend, attack, reinforce.... Always loved defending a castle here against armies 3x times higher with rains of samurai arrows.

An evolution to the Total War series (and apparently the naming format). The Sengoku era of Japan (and the latter Fall of Samurai expansion) truly bring out a charm out of the game. The sea combat and sieges are difficult to master, but land battles were somewhat simplified into rock-paper-scissors units. And the major change here is that the general is not a hero, but just an element in the background that needs to be protected. But the battles themselves were amazing, especially with one-on-one Samurai battles with fluid choreography. Multiplayer was also fun, wherein the other players don't need to wait all the time but can get to control units in other players' battles. Really great to have experienced that with my brother. As always, would love to get the whole series on GOG one day.

NHL 98
NHL 98NHL 98 features much faster and refined gameplay (now using four action keys instead of two, removing the need to double-tap to perform some actions), along other new features such as "in-the-fly" tactics developed by Marc Crawford, then manager of the Colorado Avalanche and new commentary lines from Jim Hughson and Darryl Reaugh and a re-worked interface. Graphics are improved from the previous version with the players being less angular, and thanks to 3Dfx support, with less pixels showing in the textures. The in-game presentation follows a TV-style script, zooming in players while displaying stats during clock stoppages. As far as game modes go, in the year of the first Olympic Tournament with professional players, NHL 98 introduced the first real international competition, with 18 International teams to choose from. Other game modes include Season (option to pick between 25 or 82 games) and Playoff (best of 1, 3, 5 or 7 matches) and a Penalty Shootout mode.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SealsThe player leads a four-man team (three AI-controlled teammates) of United States Navy SEALs through 12 missions in four regions: Alaska, Thailand, Congo, and Turkmenistan in the years 2006 and 2007. In the single player missions, commands can be spoken using the included USB headset or via an onscreen menu if the optional SOCOM headset was not purchased. Typical missions consist of killing terrorists, rescuing hostages, retrieving intelligence, or destroying terrorist bases. The player character's codename is Kahuna, while the NPC teammates' codenames are Boomer, Spectre and Jester. The team is divided into two sub-groups, Alpha and Bravo. The Alpha group consists of the player and Boomer, while the remaining two make up Bravo. Commands can be issued to both individuals and a whole group, for example it is possible to ask team Bravo to remain stationary while the player is scouting the area with Boomer. However the player can not venture alone through a map, when Kahuna is too far away from Boomer he will automatically resume following the player, regardless of prior orders. Briefings and intel such as maps and photos are given prior to each mission.
