Loved this unique game back in the day when I would hire it for the ps1 from the video shop. It was quite weird and funny cos you'd walk around in 1st person and set traps for random ppl who come to your house in each level. I would like to play it again and see how it holds up today.
This whole franchise should be a lot more available than it is. Being able to set up elaborate Rube Goldberg death mazes for invaders lends itself to modern streaming culture, where players could have their audience participate in the layout process. The first game admittedly spoke to me more than the sequels, given the inclusion of summoning monsters and RPG leveling and item use, but they're just such sadistic fun.
Building rooms, setting traps, and, later in the game, conjuring monsters, all that set in a medieval fantasy first person environment: It was outstanding, still not seen again until today, and possibly the best game a boardgame Hero Quest fanatic like myself could wish for back then. And, no doubts, today!
Those games also need your vote!
Fable III
Fable IIISet 50 years after the events of Fable II, the continent of Albion (where the Fable series is set) is under the control of Logan, a tyrant king and the Hero's older brother[1]. The player's character, the "Hero", is forced into a quest to become a revolutionary leader to defeat Logan after he reveals his true personality to the Hero. Over the course of the first half of the game, the Hero will overthrow Logan and become ruler of Albion themselves. During the second half of the game, a strange force from Aurora, called The Darkness will threaten Albion and the player has to decide how to react to it.
