I got into rpg relatively late. I still remember a buddy telling me about them and taking the example of Summoner as an example. I was so curious I went to the video game store. Summoner 2 at the time had released and I got it. Though it is very action oriented, I really enjoyed it and it has kept a special place in my heart ever since. I'd give a lot to explore it again on pc. Especially since the worldbuilding of it was pretty crazy. I don't think I've ever seen something quite like it. It's a hidden gem and I hope more people can discover it.

When I first played Summoner 2 I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. I was new to more action-heavy rpgs and really struggled with the mid/late game portions. But I absolutely loved the characters, world, and story. It's such a unique experience that I think about so often and honestly chase the same feelings the mid-game twist gave me. I still own my PS2 copy but would love nothing more than to have a more accessible way to replay it.

This game. A game spanning world upon worlds, while a great story unfolds with twists and turns as time goes by. Skills, gear, and Summons keep you hooked. Combat isn't super deep, but it doesn't have to be, it's a good time. This is a Myth given form (especially knowing the lore of the original Summoner game.) GOG please consider adding this gem.

Summoner 2 is a game that has a really special place in my heart. The original is widely available now but this one is still impossible to find. To this day I haven't found a game that has such a unique and original world with such imagination-inspiring lore. It's hard to put into words but the surreal, dream-like quality of the game and how so much of it is rooted in this idea of dabbling in the realms of the gods gives it this incredible cosmic feeling with a scale few other games can match. Please bring this back!
This game means a lot to me. I used to play it with a friend that is no longer with us. I usually was the good gamer of the friend group, but for some reason something didn't click for me. My friend on the other hand, was great at it. He was so happy and had the biggest smile on his face when he helped me with a section that i was stuck. I never tried to become better at this game for this reason. Maybe now I will, for him. Miss you buddy.

Great game. I would love to see THQ Nordic give this one a re-release. Not only is it a good follow up to the first Summoner, which is already here on GOG, but it has a lot of cool new characters as well. Maia is a great female protagonist, and her companions are all very fun and colorful. Yago from summoner 1 returns, and the new characters like Sangaril, Prince Neru, and Morbazon all have their own unique personalities and abilities. Morbazon is particularly cool looking. I like the setting of the game quite a bit, it's a unique fantasy setting with original races and cultures like the Munari and Odani which make the game stand out from all the games with D&D, Tolkien, and mythology inspired characters and settings.
This is such a special piece of my childhood. I got so lost into this world when I first played it, wanting to explore every nook and cranny. At the time, I didn't even know it was a sequel as I had played the Gamecube version first, which doesn't have 2 in the title lol I'd love to replay Maia's story once again and get my friends into it as well.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the final canonical Metal Gear game to feature Solid Snake as the main character. The gameplay of the previous games have been kept along with some new features, such as the ability to roll on your back and also to hide in bins scattered around the environment. Most of the story and the relationship between the characters are explained through cut-scenes with a considerable length, so knowledge of the prior games is recommended to fully understand the story. The game also features a complex multiplayer mode entitled Metal Gear Online with some original missions based on the stealth aspects of the single-player games.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake EaterMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the follow up to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. It is the first prequel in the series, taking the series to the year 1964. The player takes the role as the series' original antagonist, Big Boss, then known as Naked Snake. MGS3 is the first game in the series to take place in a jungle. This unique setting created an opportunity for new mechanics. The player can adapt to the environment by swapping Snake's camouflage, hunt animals and gather plants for food. This iteration in the series introduced a new feature in which the player must apply medicine and perform medical procedures on Snake if he is damaged in combat. Apart from the survival themed features, the controls and gameplay of the game are very similar to Metal Gear Solid 2. Like other Metal Gear games, the focus is on stealth, but the player can go through the entire game like a shooter if they choose to. Throughout the game Snake acquires weapons of all types; non-lethal firearms, handguns, sniper rifles, machine guns, shotguns, sub-machine guns, and explosives. Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first game to implement the CQC (close quarters combat) system. CQC allowed Snake to beat enemies down to knock them out, or put them in a chokehold to knock them out, kill them, or and/or question them. Metal Gear Solid 3's health system required the player to occasionally pause the game and treat Snake's ailments. When Snake is shot, there is a chance that the bullet didn't pass through him, requiring the player to use a knife to remove the bullet, apply disinfectant, apply styptic and bandage the wound. This was done through a submenu in the pause screen. Other ailments the player must treat Snake for include: leeches, broken bones, burns, cut, arrow/bolts/needles, stomach sickness, colds, and food/venom poisoning. Adding to the survival elements of the game, Snake Eater lives up to its name by requiring the player to scavenge food for Snake. Under the life bar there is stamina bar. If Snake does not eat any food the bar depletes, causing various effects. When the stamina bar is low, the player's ability to aim is severely handicapped, Snake's hands will shake in the first person aiming mode. Just like real life, Snake's stomach can also rumble, enemy soldiers can hear this, and will be alerted to Snake's presence.

L.A. Noire
L.A. NoireL.A. Noire is a neo-noir detective action-adventure video game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It was initially released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms on 17 May 2011; a Microsoft Windows port was later released on 8 November 2011. L.A. Noire is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges the player, controlling a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer, to solve a range of cases across five divisions. Players must investigate crime scenes for clues, follow up leads, and interrogate suspects, and the player's success at these activities will impact how much of each case's story is revealed. The game draws heavily from both the plot and aesthetic elements of film noir—stylistic films made popular in the 1940s and 1950s that share similar visual styles and themes, including crime and moral ambiguity—along with drawing inspiration from real-life crimes for its in-game cases, based upon what was reported by the Los Angeles media in 1947. The game uses a distinctive colour palette, but in homage to film noir it includes the option to play the game in black and white. Various plot elements reference the major themes of detective and mobster stories such as The Naked City, Chinatown, The Untouchables, The Black Dahlia, and L.A. Confidential.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainMetal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the sequel to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and a prequel to the original Metal Gear. The game has a complex story with long cut-scene sequences, but there are fewer and they are shorter compared to earlier Metal Gear Solid titles. Most of the gameplay mechanics introduced in Ground Zeroes are carried over: it is still an action game and stealth oriented but replaces the linear corridor design from most earlier titles with large open world environments that offer the player unrestricted freedom for the approach. The world has now a real-time day and night cycle and various weather effects that influence enemy behaviour, visibility and sound. Sabotaging or destroying certain structures can also influence other parts of the map.
