Why are people wasting votes on games currently still available? i.e, Startracft, C&C Ultimate Collection, Warcraft 2? Why not vote for a game no longer available without downloading files from questionable sites?

This was the first game I played with friends during my time at university. we met, set up the LAN network and off we go. We all loved Star Trek and this was just such a great 4x game set in the universe. So many great memories. Even in single player mode I played many hours ... the classic "just one more turn!" kept me awake too many nights. The combination of 3d tactical combat, tech-trees, diplomacy, building up planets and star fleets - it was just perfect! And all the call backs to antagonists like the crystalline entity or the borg, which were scary as f...k, were great!

I love this game so much that I compare every space 4x game to it. I've never found one that satisfied me the same way. Every race was fun and felt different. Discovering the minor races was very fun, and so many races are included! My favorite memory is playing LAN with friends and making ridiculous jokes about spending money I didn't have while playing as the Ferengi.

I was a big fan of the game back in the day. I've spent more hours on this that I have on many newer games. It would be a shame if this game were to be unavailable for current and future Star Trek fans. I can remember when a Borg cube was rampaging through my territory, I had expended all of my ships but put all of my hope in my remaining fleet of Oberth ships. Fortunately the cube was sufficiently damaged so that my fleet of Oberth ships were able to finish it off. After that they leveled up so much that they were unbeatable.

I absolutely love this game. I played the heck out of it, replaying as different races with different strategies. I've never played another Star Trek game since this one, as none of the others seemed to have the same scope as this one. I hope this gets preserved as even though I still have the physical copy, I don't have an optical drive to play it.
A fantastic 4x game with deep Star Trek lore. The mechanics were pretty finely balanced and I ended up playing this as my most go-to 4x for years and years. The battles were a nice touch.

The Game was one of the first TNG story based games. You can fight with the galaxym Sovereign and Defiant-Class and more. You can kill the EDO God :-D Or you can play a other main race... and find some small like Vulcan. the map is not original but you can have fun.

I remember playing this when I was in the Navy. I fell in love with it and played it almost all the time. It was, in my opinion, the best Star Trek game ever made.

Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas
Cutthroats: Terror on the High SeasThe game is set in the 17th century in the Caribbean and unlike most pirate games, it is mostly historically accurate. The game world is covered with settlements according to the time period the player picks at the start (and evolves accordingly as the game progresses) and each settlement is ruled by one of the five new world powers, Spain, England, France, The Netherlands and Denmark. Also some settlements are ruled at certain times by independent rulers, e.g. Tortuga and Belize. These settlements can be attacked by the player, meaning his crew, with weapons the player chose, will land at the town and can then be controlled to burn and pillage it. Other than this the player controls a ship unit upon a map of the Spanish Main and can plot courses to pins which represent towns; however, if an NPC ship is close enough to the player (these ships spawn at the settlements with goals such as trade between towns or to find pirates), the player will be alerted and go into a smaller bird's-eye map in which they can raise flags to either enter diplomacy with the ship such as asking for information, raise nation flags to avoid them, or obviously raise the Jolly Roger to attack them. Ship combat is worked much as town combat with the player controlling his ship(s) with advanced controls such as where to aim cannon, and what type of shot, right down to scuttling the ship or setting it ablaze.
