Story:Sonic Heroes is an adventure and multiplatform video game in the Sonic The Hedgehog series, developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA for the Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox and Microsoft Windows PCs.
The player races a team of series characters through levels to amass rings, defeat robots, and collect the seven Chaos Emeralds needed to defeat Doctor Eggman. This game differs from other Sonic games by allowing the player to take control of one of four teams, each with three characters, who each have unique abilities to use. The game received mixed reviews from critics but it performed commercially well, becoming a million-seller and making the best-selling lists for all three of its original platforms.

Sonic Heroes is a game that I have nothing but fond memories of, with hours spent replaying the different team stories, trying to do the special stages to collect all the Chaos Emeralds, etc. It has one of the largest rosters of characters in the series; I already had played a Sonic title prior to this and knew of some characters already, but it introduced me to characters I'd never known, such as the Chaotix (this was one of the only main series titles they're playable in!)
It's a somewhat mixed experience, I can't deny how rough it is around the edges; it's buggy, the story is basic as hell and the writing at times cheesy, completing the game is a total drag to be honest given you need to beat the game at least four times, one with each team, to actually do the final boss. But even having gone back to it more recently and seeing the issues with it, it brought me back to a time where I was lost in the fun I was having.
This game hasn't been available to purchase and play now for nearly 20 years, as it was only ever released for PS2, GameCube, Xbox and PC through retail discs, and was never released digitally on any platform. I love to go back to and play it, but many of those consoles of the era don't work as well anymore or are hard to come by, and PCs rarely support discs anymore. I loved going back to play it, but with time it's become harder for many to do so; the GameCube I used when replaying it more recently does not even work anymore. If this game came to GOG, it would finally be accessible again to many for years to come, something I'm surprised it isn't already, being a title in what was and still is such a popular series.
Very first sonic game I got to play for myself, even if it was the jankiest sonic game out there (PS2 version)
I mostly Played it by myself, but a bit of multiplayer was magic.
Loved how different it was from the rest of the sonic gamemodes, while being one mostly coherent style even in chaotix
I really want this on GoG because a PC version ALREADY EXISTS, BUT ISN'T AVAILABLE OFFICALLY ANYMORE! Not to mention, even when you finally setup the weird dvd the game is made in a very old way, and can be a pain to use with modern controllers.
The PC port of Heroes was my very first introduction to the overall Sonic franchise as a whole,
and thus it has a very special spot in my heart forever. Still, getting that said PC port to run on modern 64-bit PCs is definitely a haggle not worth going through.
That's why i do hope to see the day this game gets added here on GOG with just enough tweaks and necessary custom wrappers to make it actually run on modern PCs.
Sonic Heroes is one of the few Dreamcast era Sonic titles, alongside Shadow the Hedgehog, that hasn't had a proper PC release. Sure, Sonic Heroes DID get a PC version but that never released on Steam.
It's an enjoyable, if flawed, 3D platformer that does some unique things with the three-playable-characters-at-once mechanic. And it adapts the more colorful, out there ideas you would see in the Classic era Sonic's into the 3D realm.
I loved it growing up and I would be super happy to see this get a modern PC release in the future.
Even though it's a flawed game, this is a childhood game of mine back on my OG Xbox. It also has a PC port...but isn't available anywhere??? Strange! Especially when future Sonic games reference it all the time. Preserve the game, y'all!!
It's been many years since I played this game and I sadly departed with my PS2 copy hoping I could make some money off of it... boy do I regret it, although the PS2 version is infamously the worst version of the game. All that aside, I'm shocked there hasn't been an official rerelease of this game. It may be a mess, but it's a lovable mess! I didn't know for the longest time until a friend told me that there was a secret final boss only unlocked by playing all the routes and getting the chaos emeralds, and this is the biggest reason I played team Rose so much, just to get to the chaos emeralds faster... ahh memories.
Sonic Heroes, for as flawed as it is, was one of the first video games I ever played and cherish it to this day. I would really love for the PC version to be brought out of the ether to make it more readily available while also making modding it easier as well. I understand there might be issues getting it greenlit likely due to the engine it uses no longer being utilized in today's market, so the copyright surrounding it is sketchy, but I really want this to happen. I love Heroes so much. Oh and proper dual-audio and multilingual support would be a huuuge plus.
If I remember correctly Sonic Heroes demo might have been first game I installed by myself back in the day. I also remember how buggy the full game was when I finally bought it (The weird texture color bug on the final boss is a core memory). But the game was still fun and with some mods and tweaks it could be a really great experience!

The Faery Tale Adventure is a role-playing game in which the player can assume control of any of the three brothers - Julian, Philip, or Kevin. Each of the three has his own strengths: Julian is the archetypal melee fighter, Philip has high luck and intelligence, while Kevin is known for his kindness. Should the player fail while controlling one of the brothers, the next one will replace him. Each brother will be revived a few times when vanquished by an enemy, until his luck runs out, at which point he will die permanently.
Much of the gameplay is dedicated to exploring the large world, interacting with non-playable characters and building up the brothers' combat abilities by participating in battles. The fastest-growing parameter is bravery, which is comparable to experience points and strength combined. Each defeated enemy yields bravery points; as it grows, so does the hero's vitality (maximum hit points), albeit at a slower rate. Combat system is rather simple and is done in action style, with the player pressing a key or a mouse button while navigating the protagonist towards or away from the enemy. Predating Ultima V, the game has a day and night cycle, and the main character has to eat and rest.
The Faery Tale Adventure is notable for having a very vast world, usually considered the largest ever created for a video game at the time of its release. Players can explore approximately 17,000 screens of terrain. The world is also interconnected, i.e. there are no transitions between different types of areas. Items can be dropped by enemies as well as found anywhere in the game's world. There is also NPC interaction and quests the protagonist can undertake.

The Lurking HorrorThe Lurking Horror is an interactive fiction game released by Infocom in 1987. The game was written by Dave Lebling and inspired by the horror fiction writings of H. P. Lovecraft (including his Cthulhu Mythos). Like most of Infocom's games, it was released for several platforms simultaneously thanks to the Z-machine.
The original release included versions for DOS, the Apple II, Atari ST, Atari 8-bit family and Commodore 64. Later, it was ported to the Amiga with the addition of sound effects, making it the first title with that feature. The effects would play at appropriate times in the game in an effort to intensify the horror atmosphere. This marked one of the few major additions to the Z-machine with the exception of graphics; traditionally, Infocom had eschewed such changes in favor of expanding the parser capacity and overall size of game files. The ability to repair damage on the fly is also an important strategic consideration in ship-to-ship fights.
Though the gameplay of this 3D adventure is oriented towards fast action, several elements of role-playing are also incorporated, to move the story along and involve the player more deeply. The lead character Katarina de Leon plots a thoughtful course for her career on the open seas. The "Black Kat" sets sail to uncover mysteries and position herself in circumstances that will increase her overall status among other pirates, securing a position of power. In addition to Katarina's well-developed storyline, the game's "Captain vs. Captain" battle mode allows a more combat-intensive, freeform style of play.
