Story:Snoopy vs. the Red Baron is a flight combat game released on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and PC in 2006. As the name implies, the protagonist is Snoopy, the dog in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip, Peanuts. The game is based on one of the most famous Snoopy alter egos: a World War I flying ace battling against Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron, the Flying Circus: Jagdgeschwader 1, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and other enemies of the war.Show more

Simple, fun flight sim with Snoopy. How can you not love Snoopy? Played with my son when he was young. Both enjoyed taking turns, beating the game together. Have tried multiple times to get it to work but always fail. Would love to relive the nastalgia.
The reason I fell in love with jazz and dogfight games, is because of Snoopy vs the Red Baron. This games means a lot to me because of the rainy days playing on my PS2 while my family read on the living room. They didn't mind the soundtrack at all, even the most upbeat tracks.
I would play this game on my PS2 as a kid while my parents watched. We'd bond over the comics and the goofiness of Snoopy and Woodstock flying around while the rest of the cast for the comics got placed as (mostly) high-ranking military personnel. I recall some of the later levels/bosses being pretty difficult, but for the most part, it's a pretty simplistic and easy game with some nice references to the comics for fans of Snoopy's WW1 Flying Ace persona.

Everybody has that one licensed game from their childhood and for me it's this one. It's the first PC game I ever played and it was mindblowing to tiny me. My brother and I would repeatedly play it and 100% it twice. I especially love the first bossfight of the game controlling woodstock with a gatling gun.
Bought this game when I was little cause it was on such a huge sale that it was essentially a steal even knowing nothing about it and just loving the comics. The game itself surprised the hell out of me for having some of the sickest maps I'd ever seen in a game like this, huge and expansive but never sacrificing that nice 'homemade' feel to them, imagine a Kids Next Door series set during World War 1 (where I guess kid Franz Ferdinand got merced by a 2x4 gun). I've gotten a few old ps2 classics running on modern hardware with minimal issue but this is just cursed. Getting a proper skilled hand on it would be a godsend, and since it's an old licensed game, GOG is my only hope for that.
