Sex 2

Sex 2 (1996)

by Stone Heads, AyPio
Genres:Simulator, Visual Novel
Themes:Erotic
Game modes:Single player
Story:Sex 2 has the same basic premise as its predecessor, which is easy to deduce from the game's title. It's all about engaging in the titular pleasurable activity, and doing it in various "creative" ways. Unlike the first Sex, there is only one girl in Sex 2: Ayaka, the cute flower-raising character from Satyr, another game by the same company.Show more

Sex 2 is a game written by Marutani Hideto, known for his work on the brilliantly dark anti-capitalist Dead End Aegis, but Sex 2 is not a game that features those kinds of complex themes. It is a simple story about the joys of Sex - and above all else - a story about the purity of love. This game is a beautiful story that refuses to shy away from the weirder sides of sex, instead showcasing so much of what makes having sex with someone you love so special. The writer's incredible sense of humor is on full display here making for a hilariously charming time. Sex 2 demonstrates how important sexual themes can be and why they should always have a place in media all while offering a unique and refreshing experience for fans of gaming everywhere. All of the illustrations were done by the late Caroline Youko who was beloved in the doujinshi scene and deserves to be remembered for the passion she put into her work. The game's art is beautiful and vivid, the character designs are lovely and inviting, and the music composed by Studio M are an absolute delight making full use of the PC-98's sound boards. Despite being a more obscure title Sex 2 left an important mark on culture and gaming inspiring memes, music and fan works. Some of my favorite examples of this are SiIvaGunner's incredibly funny and creative rips of Sex 2 and Amelie Doree's amazingly thought-provoking video "The PC-98 Game with the Funniest Name (and Finding Meaning in Art)" that I consider a must watch for all fans of Sex 2. In my opinion Sex 2 is a game everyone should experience, its simple charm and nostalgic presentation is unforgettable while its approach to sexual themes is comforting and really left an impression on me. It's a shame that this game isn't as well known as Marutani's other works as I feel Sex 2 marks an important milestone in his career. Sex 2 should be preserved and recognized for what it is, a fun Visual Novel about exploring love in one of its purest forms.

"If sex is so good, why isn't there a sex 2?" The humble sex 2 released in the year 1996 for the PC98 in question: My eyes widened in shock as I realized the implications of such a peculiar circumstance. Should humanity not try to preserve its pieces of culture? This art, this, this human expression? My heart aches for a world where we fear not the fleeting nature of time. And this - is a step towards it. Our war against the authoritarian grasp of the universe is a futile one, and yet like Sisyphus rolling his boulder up the hill, we must persist, and find meaning in our efforts. Otherwise, we will never be happy.

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Zoo Tycoon 2
Zoo Tycoon 2Zoo Tycoon 2 is the sequel to Zoo Tycoon. The sequel updates the graphics, but keeps much of the original gameplay the same. You start with an open field and must build it up into a zoo. Create exhibits and populate them with animals. Build amenities and concession stands to keep visitors happy in between exhibits. Happy visitors will donate more money to your zoo so you can make it better. However, you have much more freedom in exhibit creation. You don't even need fences; a moat or ditch will suffice, as this technique is popular at real high profile zoos. There are also more animals and attractions to place in your zoo, and animal habitats look as realistic as the cartoony graphics style will allow.
