Saw II: Flesh & Blood

Saw II: Flesh & Blood (2010)

by Zombie Studios, Konami
Genres:Adventure, Puzzle
Themes:Horror, Survival
Game modes:Single player
Story:The demented serial killer Jigsaw returns with more gruesome torture puzzles designed to test the limits of human ethics in Saw II: Flesh & Blood. Set between the second and third Saw films, Flesh & Blood puts players in the shoes of Michael, son of the first game's protagonist Detective David Tapp, as he looks for clues as to his father's death and becomes the latest target of Jigsaw and his strange apprentice Pighead II. The gameplay once again mixes heavy doses of survival horror and puzzle-solving with mild combat elements, as players attempt to help themselves, and others, out of life-and-death situations by successfully completing mini-games and quick-time events. The combat comes in two forms, with gamers using melee attacks and a variety of weapons in physical battles against Jigsaw's thugs, or executing puzzle-based attacks that make use of traps and environmental hazards. Various case files are strewn about the hotels, factories, and sewers in which the game is set, and players can also collect a number of Billy the Puppet dolls hidden throughout each level. As was the case with its predecessor, Saw II: Flesh & Blood includes multiple endings based on choices gamers make throughout the story.Show more

While the first Saw game got unfairly bad reception when it came out despite being very faithfull game with good budget and puzzles, this one deserves the more negative feedback, but it still deserves to be brought back to be playable! Saw should've had a good run video game wise, honestly a new original Saw game today would be fantastic, especially if they get a multiplayer element to it where we all each have to collaborate to survive Jigsaw, that's a winner right there waiting to happen!
It's actually a fairly broken game with derivative elements from the first game with an added combat system that just wasn't good. That being said, it has some pretty solid moments here and there and does wrap up the story from the first game and allows it to somewhat stay in line with the movies messy timeline. I think game preservation is important, especially single player titles with no online requirements to play like this. If it were possible to release with support to patch it, that would be better, but that may be a pipe dream given the studio was closed.
I sadly highly doubt that the second one will be on GOG, but it’d be cool, though! Because this was a console exclusive game. However, I totally see the first game getting listed here!

Carcassonne
CarcassonneCarcassonne starts with a single terrain tile face up and 71 others shuffled face down for the players to draw from. On each turn a player draws a new terrain tile and places it adjacent to tiles that are already face up. The new tile must be placed in a way that extends features on the tiles it abuts: roads must connect to roads, fields to fields, and cities to cities. A part of a game board after several turns. After placing each new tile, the placing player may opt to station a piece on a feature of that newly-placed tile. The placing player may not use a follower to claim any features of the tile that extend or connect features already claimed by another player. However, it is possible for terrain features claimed by opposing players to become "shared" by the subsequent placement of tiles connecting them. For example, two field tiles which each have a follower can become connected into a single field by another terrain tile. The game ends when the last tile has been placed. At that time, all features (including fields) score points for the players with the most followers on them. The player with the most points wins the game.
