I love the RTS genre, and this game not only offered a fun RTS experience growing up, but the ability to take control of your hero unit (switching from RTS-view to Over-the-shoulder view) and command the battle from the ground was unforgettable and something I haven't seen any other RTS attempt. With campaigns ranging from Julius Caesar to Cleopatra, the offered a fun variety of different units. Not to mention, detailed navy combat mechanics. Load up you ships with archers and attack them at range, or ram ships by using careful flanking and speedy rowing, or use boarding hooks to take over ships by sending your troops onto the enemy ships (and again, being able to join the raiding party as a hero unit never got old for me :P ). I spent hours in the level editor also setting up wacky scenarios. Especially loved the Godzilla unit that was an easter egg hidden in the tutorial mission... Would love to see this game released where others can experience it
This game was next level RTS and third person immersion, it's like a mix of dynasty warriors and playing as the hero I love this remade or remastered!!! My dad and I both played this growing up, many nights spent hearing the wonderful soundtrack

This was the first ARTS game i played (Action Real Time Strategy). I remember playing this with a few friends and we always ended up at a stale mate every time. Story is very good and can be brutal at times. This game remastered or even a sequel would become the best RTS game like this out there. It was totally ahead of its time. I still have the box for this, but i would love this game to be available for the rest of the world so they can experience this ancient masterpiece.

Now this game was something. Introduced to me by my neighbour borrowing me his copy, I went in expecting a fun Age of Empires experience. Well I didn't expect to just be able to jump into the shoes of a faction's hero, and lead my units in the battle. This fluid transformation from RTS to 3rd person action just blew my mind. The faction campaigns were also really fun and entertaining. A real gem that deserves to be on GOG.

I got this game as a birthday present back in the day. My physical copy is still lingering somewhere around the house. A decent RTS, with units countering each other. With an additional spin that was becoming somewhat popular back in the day - a heroic unit. What made it stand out? You could take over control of your hero, and command units in that state as well (with simple commands). That allowed you to turn the tide aside from simple numbers in units! And the campaign, they posed a challenge, as your hero has limited stamina for you to utilize while controlling them. It requires you, the player, to manage the resource even while controlling a hero.
This game was part of my childhood, the kind of game you just play to have fun, without any commitment, missing physical media. I would love to see this nostalgic game in the GoG store.

You get an actual story staring Alexander the Great. I remember reading in History class, about how Alexander fell behind ememy lines, single handidly destroyed a Persian Temple. The time he fought in the Coliseum, taking on an massive war elephant 1 v 1?! Ha ha ha it is a lot of cheese but it is hilarious fun cheese and I will never forget Alexander's gung-ho attitude in the cutscenes between missions. Just an all around good time with a Historic figure.

I used to play this game with every waking second I had, I loved it so much, I think if it was remade today with a couple small tweaks and mod support it would be top tier. But I'd love to play it again and ram some ships!
Those games also need your vote!

One bomb plus at least two monsters of the same color have to be combined to make them disappear. If five or more objects are cleared at the same time, a diamond will appear. Destroying the diamond will clear all monsters of the diamond's color.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
