First game I bought for my PC back in 1996. Still remember the day. 6 CDs full of cinematics shot by real actors (Karen Allen, Scott Cohen, John Rhys-Davies, Christopher Walken, Burgess Meredith just to name a few)... Nothing compared to other DOS games with low rez graphics at the time. Of course the puzzles were impossible to solve in my age so I was able to finish it only with a walkthrough but the story was captivating, it had multiple endings, it made me fall in love with the futuresque setting in general... I still have the CDs and with a couple of patches, the game still works! (I still boot it up in DosBox from time to time) But I would love to see the game return in GOG and see it get the recognition and preservation it deserves and claim it's place in PC game history :)

I love this game, it’s my first horror/thriller game, there is one of my favorite actors, Christopher Walken, I still have the physical game, with his 6 discs and the manual :-)
Christopher Walken Blue Oyster Cult 4 Years before "More Cowbell" Is the acting cheesy? Of course it is, you knew that when you saw the letters "FMV" on the box. But regardless, it is one of the most unforgettable titles in Full-Motion Video history, save perhaps for the Tex Murphy franchise. It is an absolute TRAVESTY that this isn't available legally anymore, short of tracking down a retail copy 2nd hand. Intersting Fact: A complaint many have about Ripper is that the important game-crucial info is often mumbled during cutscenes that you cannot re-watch. What may surprise those who share this issue is that this game has a full set of Subtitles, but unless you've played a few specific Foreign releases, you'd never know because they didn't give players the choice to enable it. The only way I've found to turn on this hidden, but highly recommended feature is to copy a settings file from a foreign version onto an English version. Absolutely no clue why this feature was left out, but it is definitely worth enabling.
Excellent thriller adventure game of the legendary full motion video era! Starring Christopher Walken (Severance) one of the few big names involved in FMV games. It is a crime that this game can only be found in abandonware. Please let’s save it!

Another game I never played but watched a playthrough of the game. This actually is a very interesting game with good characters and story and definitely not for kids nor teens. The only negative to the game is the ending that is totally random and it's a pretty abrupt ending. Still even if the ending can't be fixed, even with some new pics and text, this game should become widely available.
I remember seeing a bunch of game reviewers cover this game over a decade ago, and seeing the meme birthed out of that coverage of Christopher Walken saying, "This guy... Is un-F***ING-believable!" Despite, or maybe because, of these things, this has always appeared to be one of the better games to come out during the FMV craze of the 90s, better still is that it appears to be a competently made point-and-click mystery solver that has a good cast of actors, a decent soundtrack, and well utilizes the cyberpunk setting. I think it deserves a new lease on life in the modern era.
I remember seeing this in so many PC magazines back in the mid 90s, but sadly my PC at the time wouldn’t be able to run it. I would love the ability to play this now.
Still an amazing game all these years later...the kind of accidental camp masterpiece that transcends time... And GOG, I can't help but notice that it STILL isn't up yet...

Kagero: Deception II
Kagero: Deception IIShifting the viewpoint to third-person and the emphasis to trap combos, Kagero: Deception II formed the foundation of current Deception titles and would be built upon in future titles, coming out two years after its predecessor. In it, players assume the role of Millennia, a young girl being used as a puppet and guard for a race known as Timenoids (or TMD, as the game abbreviates their race's name), who are like humans except immortal, and whose power is desired by the humans whose lives they govern. Millennia finds herself in the middle of the war between her own race and her captors, with her chosen side dictated by the player. One of the endings to the game heavily implies that Kagero is a prequel to Tecmo's Deception, and that Millennia will grow up to become Astarte from the first game; this interpretation is supported by the fact that naming the main character in Kagero "Astarte" lets you start with a hefty sum of extra Ark (the game's currency). However, Tecmo has not made it clear if that ending is canon. The change in how traps functioned gave this game a much more strategic edge than the first game, with traps able to interact with one another in long strings that could be likened to Rube Goldberg set-ups, just much more lethal and involving other people. Instead of using items such as medicinal herbs, healing was accomplished via glowing blue crystals called "loons" which could only be touched once before breaking, never to be used again in a given chapter. Trap improvement was conducted by using the points earned after successfully killing each invader, called Ark, and by following a somewhat logical "tree"—improving an Arrow Slit after a Lightning Rod was created could make a Laser Arrow, for instance. Six secret traps (one of which depicted Suezo, a popular monster from Tecmo's own Monster Rancher titles) could be unlocked in future replays by completing the game and achieving all four endings in the game, as well. Traps, when constructed, could be used as often as the player liked, but required a recharge time between uses in any given level. Game saves are one block in size.
