My favorite version of my favorite video game ever made.. It's sad to me that this game is still locked behind the PS3 Playstation store and physical discs. I know Reload is the big P3 thing currently, but something like FES NEEDS to be preserved, because it's a huge reason Atlus is what it is today, plus it has a lot of very subtle changes to the way it presents it's story that makes it worth giving FES a shot.
Between the Portable release and Reload, Persona 3 has quickly topped the list as my favorite game of all time, and I would love to have the opportunity to play the one major version of the game that eludes me. Unfortunately, I do not own a PlayStation 2, and therefore am barred from playing the original definitive version of this timeless classic.

Persona 3 FES is not my favorite Atlus game, but I do think it's one of their most important games the company has made. It defined the direction of the company and allowed them to continue as the JRPG powerhouse we know today. It is also the only game that cannot be played on modern hardware. Persona 3 Portable and Reload have modern releases that are easily accessible on all major platforms, so it stands to reason that Persona 3 FES receive the same treatment. If there's one thing that GOG's plan with the dreamlist can do, is to preserve and make available games of historical and cultural significance to the medium. It might not be the best of Atlus' output, but it is certainly one worth sharing and preserving.
Persona 3 FES is one of the best game in the Persona series. While Persona 3 Reload is already out and Persona 3 Portable is a downgrade (in order to fit into the PSP's UMD), the latter isn't really a good way to experience the OG game. Which is why Persona 3 FES deserve to have the game preserve and have modern gamers to experience the OG.

Persona 3 for many people is their favorite entry in the series. The game itself have so many versions and each version have so many strengths and weaknesses. But of all version that Atlus release, the Persona 3 FES is the one that they did not port it on PC because they think a remake and a PSP version is enough. And for myself, I want to try how the FES version works
One of my favorite games of all time and the remake was so disappointing. This version deserves a rerelease too. Absolutely unmatched in story, characters, atmosphere and soundtrack.

I never had any experience with Persona even though I had PS2 in secondary school. It wasn't until I got into the university and made a friend with a JRPG lover who introduced me to it. I didn't have my PS2 at that time since years past and resorted to emulator. Not a single regret because that was easily one of the best games I ever played. Of course when P3P and P3R came to Steam I knew I had to grab them but I wouldn't say no for FES to be in my PC library too.

FES has some features not available in the other iterations of Persona 3 available on modern hardware, most notably the ability to switch weapons on the protagonist which adds a different level of strategy not present in the other iterations of the game.
Persona 3 is my favorite game of all time. I do not think I actually could ever write enough about how much I love it's characters, ideas, music, and especially not it's story. It's one that frames Death in a way that legitimately got me out of a dark part of my life, one that was drowning in the despair that existentialism brings. It's a beautiful story that I feel like people need to experience, and for me personally no other version has landed that feeling more than the original game on PS2. Granted FES is an updated version of Persona 3, but it's frankly just the same game with some major improvements and additions, in addition to adding The Answer. Still, I think this game needs to be preserved, if only to respect easily one of the most inspirational and important modern JRPGs of our time. Persona 3 Reload is a good version, but the original is still better to me.
Persona 3's multiple versions throughout its release history is one of the most fascinating cases in the history of the JRPG genre, and the original iteration of Persona 3 and the FES expansion pack is the only version no longer accessible on modern platforms, with Portable's re-release in 2023 and Reload's initial release in 2024. It deserves preservation not only for its significance to the JRPG genre upon its original release, but for its potential to serve as a learning experience of how games are expanded upon, ported, and remade as the years go on.

.Hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce
.Hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce.Hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce is the second entry in the .hack//G.U. series containing: Vol. 1: Rebirth, .hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce and .hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption. As in the previous .hack games, .hack//G.U. simulates a massively multiplayer online role-playing game as the player controls a character who starts playing it. Players assume the role of a participant in a fictional game called The World. While in The World, the player controls the on-screen player character, Haseo, from a third-person person perspective (with optional first-person mode). The player may control the camera using the game controller's right analog stick. Within the fictional game, players explore monster-infested fields and dungeons as well as "Root Towns" that are free of combat. They also can "log-off" from the game and return to a computer desktop interface which includes in-game e-mail, news, and message boards, as well as desktop and background music customization options. In Reminisce, an optional card game called "Crimson VS" becomes available. The player may save the game to a memory card both from the desktop and within The World at a Save Shop. After the player completes the game, a Data Flag appears on the save file, which allows the transfer of all aspects of the player character and party members to the next game in the series. This can also be applied to previous games if the player first finished the Reminsce or Redemption. Players can attack monsters in real time. However, the action pauses whenever the menu is opened in order to select magic to cast, items to use, or skills to perform. The player only directly controls Haseo, while the other characters are controlled by artificial intelligence. The player may either provide guidelines ("Free Will", "Rage", "Life", etc.) or issue direct commands (for example, to cast a particular magic at a particular enemy) to the computer-controlled characters. Monsters roam the environments freely or guard treasure chests. Once combat is initiated, via a "surprise attack" or the player being spotted, a wall erects around the combat area to prevent escape. Weapons give the player access to the Skill Trigger feature which allows them to perform a powerful attack at the cost of losing SPs. As an adept rogue character, Haseo can wield multiple weapons for close combat. Although Haseo can only use one weapon per battle, during Reminisce the player can change weapons in the middle of Skill Triggers. Under certain conditions, the player may execute an enhanced type of Skill Trigger called "Rengeki". These attacks deal greater damage and fill a Morale gauge, which allows the player and his team members to use a combination attack. Certain plot-related fights, called "Avatar battles", use a different interface which incorporates shoot 'em up gameplay elements. After depleting the opponent's health, players must charge up a "Data Drain" to end the battle. Root Towns are non-combat areas in The World. The player may restock on items, buy equipment, or chat and trade with other "players" of The World. The player may also undertake optional quests and visit guilds. A key feature of all towns is the Chaos Gate. This blue portal is used to travel between towns (called "servers") as well as access the fields and dungeons where battles take place. A password system controls the characteristics of each area. Depending on the characteristics of each word in the three word phrase, the resulting area may have different attributes such as prevalence of monsters or items, among other features.

Shadow Hearts: From the New World
Shadow Hearts: From the New WorldShadow Hearts: From the New World is the third official game in the Shadow Hearts series. The game series departs from Europe and centers on the "New World", the Americas. It is not directly related to the previous games in the series but it occurs in the same universe. The main characters' quest is to investigate mysterious "windows" from which vicious monsters pop out. Gameplay follows that of its predecessors, using the Judgment Ring to decide most battle outcomes, as well as many other actions throughout the game. A new "Stock" system was made for this game which expands the combination attack system between party members from Shadow Hearts - Covenant and enables double attacks. The "Stock" system works by filling up a character's stock gauge when he/she performs or receives an attack. A maximum of two stock gauge may be stored. Stock can then be utilized in many ways. For example, doing a Double attack (a character performs two action on the same turn) or starting a Combo consumes one Stock. A Double Combo on the other hand consumes two Stock. The Judgment Ring system essentially remains the same from Shadow Hearts: Covenant, with ring customization and added ring effect items being still available. Magic returns in the form of Stellar Charts, where characters equip Stellars onto the chart. The charts are based on the constellations of the twelve zodiac signs. Finding and fitting all the Stellars onto the charts rewards the player with the Melt Crest Stellar, the strongest non-elemental magic in the game. Fusion is also back in the game, albeit quite differently. Unlike Yuri, Shania does not possess the power of the Harmonixer where she is able to fuse into different demons. She makes spirit pacts with the different Guardian Spirits and draws on their power to transform. Shania is only able to fuse into four forms but through acquiring fetishes; statues of different animals, she is able to learn different techniques by powering them up. Snapping photos is more emphasized in this game. Not only can Johnny obtain enemy data through his photographing enemies, he can also trade the snap cards obtained for prizes. Johnny can also draw upon the power of Malice to transform; though this ability comes rather late in the game.
