Pathways was where it all began (kind of) for Bungie. This was one of the bigger projects they took on, and the first truly innovative and inspired game they created. It would serve as the foundation for a lot of their future game development ethos, and despite being rough around the edges (it came out in the era of wolfenstein) it shines through with some innovative mechanics. Stiff FPS controls, strict item management are buoyed by an interesting story and the ability to talk to the dead (by actually typing) in order to look for clues and piece together the mystery of the god that lies Dead but Dreaming at the bottom of a mysterious ziggurat in the Yucatan Peninsula.

As Whitaker, your goal is to fight to reach Highpoint. To do that, you must traverse the Event Containment Area – an area where humans cannot survive. Use your Needle and Tank to combat the vehicles and creatures of the ECA to reach Highpoint.

Your vehicle of choice is a Light Tank, capable of moving quickly and delivering devastating damage to your enemies and the reactive world around you. Your tank can be equipped with various weapons, armors, wheels, motors and abilities to customize your gameplay.
Use a variety of weaponry to dismantle your enemies, blow off their parts, and take a clear shot at their exposed weak points to deliver decisive blows.
