Mafia II is more than just a crime game—it’s a cinematic experience. Set in the 1940s and ‘50s, it tells the story of Vito Scaletta, a young Italian-American trying to rise through the ranks of Empire Bay’s criminal underworld. With its richly detailed world, gripping story, and incredible soundtrack, Mafia II is often considered a masterpiece of storytelling in gaming. And the Director’s Cut is the definitive version. It includes all the original DLCs—Joe’s Adventures, Jimmy’s Vendetta, and The Betrayal of Jimmy—plus added outfits and cars. It expands the game’s world and gives players a deeper look into the characters, motivations, and consequences behind every action. It’s the version that fans deserve to experience. But sadly, finding the Director’s Cut today isn’t easy. The game was delisted and re-released in a “Definitive Edition” that, while updated visually, lacks the atmosphere and authenticity of the original. Some music was changed or removed, and many fans agree it lost part of its soul in the remastering process. That’s where GOG comes in. GOG is known for treating classic games with the respect they deserve. It provides DRM-free versions of older titles, updated to run on modern systems, with no unnecessary launchers or restrictions. Releasing Mafia II: Director’s Cut on GOG would: • Preserve the original experience, soundtrack and all • Give fans access to the complete story with all content included • Support modding and offline play, things many gamers value today • Celebrate a true classic, not just as nostalgia, but as a work of art worth keeping alive GOG isn’t just about selling games—it’s about protecting them. Mafia II: Director’s Cut deserves that protection. It deserves to be remembered in its full glory, not just as a remaster, but as the version that fans fell in love with. Let players revisit Empire Bay the way it was meant to be seen—with snow on the streets, blues on the radio, and danger around every corner.

Darius
DariusDarius is a two-dimensional horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up set in a fictional future. Uniquely among shoot 'em ups, the game's screen is three times wider than conventional size, and the arcade cabinet uses an arrangement of three screens to accommodate it. The player controls an ornate fighter spacecraft, named the Silver Hawk, and must navigate through scrolling terrain while battling a variety of fighter craft, ground vehicles, turrets, and other obstacles throughout the game's stages (referred to as zones in the game). The ship's arsenal consists of forward-firing missiles, aerial bombs and a protective force field, all of which can be upgraded by power-ups (in the form of large, colored orbs) that are dropped by specially-colored enemies throughout the game's zones. When the player reaches the end of a zone, a boss appears, which must be defeated to proceed. Once the boss of a zone is destroyed, the player is given a choice of which zone to play next via a branching path. While there are 28 zones in total, only seven can be played in a single run. A Sega Mega Drive port was produced in 2019 that is pre-installed in the Mega Drive Mini as a bonus game.
