The original Dead Rising is a truly unforgettable experience. You won't play an zombie game like this ever again. You play as Frank West that's working to uncover the truth in a mall invested with zombies. Just the game play alone has an insane level of depth to it. You can make mixed drinks or pick up magazines to improve stuff to a degree. You also have multiple endings including one you just play until the game ends. You can wear a lot of different outfits. You get a huge variety of stuff to play around with. You can attempt rescuing people. The bosses stands out in a huge way. Among the first time playing this, you can't expect a game this impressively done. The game allows creativity to keep it fun as well as refreshing.
Why Dead Rising 1 Should Be on GOG The original Dead Rising (2006) is a true cult classic—a bold, chaotic, and innovative zombie survival game that laid the foundation for a beloved series. Set in the iconic Willamette Parkview Mall, players step into the shoes of photojournalist Frank West as he battles through thousands of zombies using anything and everything as a weapon. Its real-time progression, sandbox structure, and dark humor made it stand out in a sea of survival horror titles. Despite its impact and legacy, Dead Rising 1 remains unavailable on GOG.com, a platform that champions DRM-free access, retro gaming preservation, and modern compatibility. Bringing Dead Rising to GOG would finally make this masterpiece accessible to fans old and new—without reliance on third-party launchers or outdated DRM. A GOG release should also ensure proper controller support, updated resolution options, and smoother performance on modern PCs. Many fans have nostalgic memories of surviving the 72-hour outbreak—and many more have yet to experience it. GOG is the perfect home to give Dead Rising a second life. It’s time to let Frank West’s story be told again—this time with freedom and flexibility. Let’s bring Dead Rising to GOG, where classics come back to life.
