I've enjoyed playing the Xbox 360 release of Crysis 2. It didn't have the cultural impact of the first Crysis, but it's a more polished game in many ways, and Cryengine 2 is much better optimized. It's amazing what Crytek was able to squeeze out of the Xbox 360's DirectX 9 GPU, essentially a Radeon X1800 XL. I'd like to play this game on the PC as well but I refuse to touch EA's DRM. GOG already has the original Crysis and Crysis Warhead, might as well add Crysis 2 and 3 and complete the trilogy.
I don't usually play this kind of shooters (run and gun and fun is my preference) but a friend recommended it to me all those years ago, and out of all relatively modern shooters that blended and melted into sludge of memory I remember this one still rather vividly, so it did something very right. The story of Alcatraz (I even remembered his name without looking it up!) waging one-man war against alien invasion might sound as nothing unusual but it was little details that mattered to me. I remember this game fondly and I would really like to be able to play it again on GOG.
