This is one of my favorite games ever. The visuals are charming and the spiders sometimes even more terrifying than the huge bosses. Having different povs to play in and challenges to reach in every level kept it entertaining. Playing this with my sister in co-op mode was also a blast. I really hope this game can get a release on GOG as I don't think it should be forgotten. It wasn't perfect but there was plenty of great ideas and game design in here. It was overall just a fun re-imagining of an old arcade game.
The 3D reimagining mode for this game was dope. My brother and I fondly remember playing this on the Dreamcast. It basically reimagined the classic arcade Centipede as a 3rd/1st person shooter with a co-op story campaign with multiple different levels that have different environments. The only thing I remember not liking about it was that you could not save story progress in co-op. It would be nice if that was patched so that the campaign progress could be kept. It would be great to be able to LEGALLY preserve this in a personal GOG library!

If the odds get stacked too high against him, he can call in a napalm strike via his Map Computer.
Upon release the game garnered mixed reviews due to a number of shortcomings, such as poorly programmed Artificial intelligence, lack of a mid-game save option, and the lack of multiplayer features. However it was praised for its superb sound design and graphics, thanks in part to its use of a proprietary game engine that was previously used in Innerloop's Joint Strike Fighter. Set in Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear universe (it actually rivals the Battletech universe in complexity, though not nearly as famous), this game requires 3D accelerator with its "Dark" 3D engine.
