Very good classicvania title with some of the best music in the series. Considering how much hype has been around Richter for the last few years between the netflix show and smash, its weird this hasnt been ported outside of playstation
Why I Think Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Is the Best—and Why It Belongs on GOG Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is not just a great Castlevania title—it’s the pinnacle of classic-style action platforming in the series. Originally released in 1993 for the PC Engine CD (TurboGrafx-CD), it was Japan-exclusive for years, which only added to its mythos. But when I finally played it, I realized why so many fans consider it the crown jewel of traditional Castlevania. It has everything: branching paths, incredible sprite work, smooth controls, cinematic cutscenes, and one of the best soundtracks in gaming. Richter Belmont moves with fluid precision, and Maria Renard’s hidden campaign adds depth and replay value. The game strikes a perfect balance between challenge and style—respecting the old-school difficulty while feeling modern for its time. Unlike Symphony of the Night, which went full Metroidvania, Rondo of Blood represents the ultimate evolution of the classic formula before the genre pivot. It's fast, polished, and rich with secrets. So why should it be on GOG? Because GOG is the home of retro preservation. A DRM-free release of Rondo of Blood would finally make this legendary title easily accessible to a worldwide audience—without emulators, region locks, or collector’s prices. It’s an essential piece of Castlevania history that more people deserve to experience in its original glory. Let’s give this gothic masterpiece the platform it deserves. Bring Rondo of Blood to GOG, where classics are celebrated and preserved for generations.

Arguably the best Castlevania game, but there's still no official western release (outside of the dracula chronicles collection). Moreover it sits in a very unique place combining a lot of things that just aren't combined in other castlevania games: 1. It has classic castlevania mechanics and feel (castlevania 1-3, bloodlines, etc.), but is arguably refined and perfected in ways that make it shine beyond the other classics 2. It has branching paths and replayability like castlevania 3 (arguably better than what castlevania 3 has) 3. Excellent level, monster, and boss designs. 4. Full motion video cutscenes 5. Unlocks that also enable replayability. 6. Classic castlevania graphics and music/sfx, but with larger and more impressive sprites and higher res audio. There's really no comparison even in the castlevania world to what they achieved in this game.

Arguably the most refined entry from the classic era of Castlevania. Everything here came together in a perfect blend of action, storytelling, and great music. Its absence on pc is a gaping hole in the saga.

On route, the team’s helicopter suffers engine trouble and is forced to make a crash landing, where they find an overturned prisoner transport vehicle. Splitting up to search the area, Rebecca discovers the Ecliptic Express, a train stopped dead on the tracks. Inside, she meets death row convict and ex-Navy lieutenant Billy Coen. Throughout the game, you will take control of both Rebecca and Billy, at times switching between both characters in order to proceed.
