The intro and mission in Stalingrad was an exceptional experience. I also liked the tank missions in 1 and 2. I left the series after CoD 3 (Modern Warfare).
I remember a letter to the editor in CD-Action where a reader mentioned that his father had been playing one of the CoD games for some time and was surprised when he discovered that he could pick up weapons only near the end, meaning that he had played almost the entire game with only a pistol x).
The first time I played this game was in the 2020s, so I'm not being nostalgic when I say it's one of my shooters. They don't make games like this anymore (please tell me if I'm wrong). The things this game focuses on would be considered unacceptable in shooters made today, because contemporary FPSs prioritize multiplayer. This game has you desperately avoiding damage by exploiting cover and distance, using these tactics in a multiplayer FPS is considered unsportsmanlike.
One time I was playing this game on the Hardened difficulty, I was in the Soviet campaign. After the charge in Red Square, I was alone. I wondered if the surviving members of the charge would show up if I waited, so that's what I did. To my surprise, some Soviets did. No other game has had me *Truly* worried I'd be shot, and decide to wait for reinforcements I *Truly* wasn't sure were coming.
Here's a funny story: I didn't know there were quick saves. Partway through my Hardened run, I decided It would be okay if I saved every time the objective changed. It still took me so long to beat, that I forgot I wasn't playing on the Veteran difficulty. Later I started to doubt I had beaten Veteran, So I started a new game. I was horrified to learn that there were no health items.
I really like the campaign and each story from Americans to British and to Russians perspective of the gameplay and try to fight back for the sake of freedom. It really represents the whole story of WW2 like how WaW does it!
Fur FightersA group of baby stuffed animals are kidnapped from their families by the Stupid Bears (an evil gang of stuffed teddy bears, of all things!), and it is up to the Fur Fighters to save the young ones.
The group that you control ranges from Kangaroos and Penguins to Cats and Dogs, all with their unique abilities and styles of fighting, which you must use to not only defeat the Stupid Bears, but complete puzzles and specific objectives along the way. You can control only one character at a time, but there are teleport areas so that you can change your character to one that can complete the tasks at hand.Action
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the final canonical Metal Gear game to feature Solid Snake as the main character. The gameplay of the previous games have been kept along with some new features, such as the ability to roll on your back and also to hide in bins scattered around the environment. Most of the story and the relationship between the characters are explained through cut-scenes with a considerable length, so knowledge of the prior games is recommended to fully understand the story.
