Asura's Wrath

Asura's Wrath (2012)

by CyberConnect2, Capcom
Genres:Hack and slash/Beat 'em up
Themes:Action
Game modes:Single player
Story:The game follows the title character, the demigod Asura as he seeks revenge on the pantheon of other demigods who betrayed him. The story is presented in the style and format of an episodic series of cinematic shorts, including opening and closing credits, with the gameplay being integrated into the cinematic where players switch between third-person combat and interactive sequences with player input in the form of quick-time event button prompts. Because of its unique style, the game has been described in the media as an "interactive anime". According to the game's producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, Asura's Wrath takes elements from Hinduism and Buddhism and blends them with science fiction, with the main character based on the ever combative and superiority-seeking beings of the same name that are part of the Hindu and Buddhist cosmology.Show more

This is less of a game and more of an interactive hot-blooded fighting anime (e.g. Fist of the North Star, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Jujutsu Kaisen). Most of the gameplay consists of QTEs, but this is a game you mainly play for the story, and it is a very entertaining story.
Asura's Wrath is not just a game, it's an experience, and it needs a comeback. It is packed with dramatic twists, emotional moments, and jaw-dropping set pieces. It’s a bold, unapologetic celebration of over-the-top action, emotional storytelling, and cinematic presentation. PLEASE ADD THIS GAME
Asura's Wrath is two things a game should be - cool and fun. Even if it's more of an interactive anime than a game. And even if the real ending is locked behind DLC. But the real issue is how it's a console exclusive - X360 and PS3. Personally, I own the PS3 version and it's an absolute treat with just the right ratio of difficulty to fun.
We need to bring back Asura's Wrath, a game that truly deserves a second chance! Asura's Wrath first came to the PS3/Xbox 360, and stayed on those consoles until the end of time. So please, RELEASE THY RAGE!!!

Fantastic animations, degenerate powerscaling, epic bossfights, beautiful artstyle, and finally, a perfect representation of what Wrath is all about. I believe this is the Capcom game that most deserves a remake, and I will continue to defend it for the rest of my life. I also almost cried at the end of the DLC, truly a game that deserves more.

This is essentially an interactive anime movie with a lot of button bashing. Asura kept getting stronger as the story goes making this an Shonen anime game that's inspired by a few mythologies. There's never a boring moment at all. You get some sick songs to keep you going. It's a very story driven game with some surprises. It's a shame Capcom canceled it's sequel. This is vastly different from majority of their games. I will say the title is very true to it's name. Asura's Wraith is one truly fun party you never wanna leave!!!

I platted it on PS3 and my god a PC port with 60 FPS + all the dlc would be killer. Hell, the modding community can go crazy with it. I hope CRAPCOM gives the green light to bring the game to pc
A hidden gem that's currently locked away on older hardware, with an ending possibly unavailable as it was paid DLC. The actual game is a mix of QTE and simple character action. However the game manages to really draw you into its world and story, and you realize this is more a playable anime. Which is great, because it goes in the same off-the-charts directions anime can go. If this could somehow come to PC so more people could experience it, that would be fantastic.

This honeslty one of my favorite games ever. It honestly deserves a second chance. The game has so much replayability even if it's mostly qte's. The game is purre rule of cool. I like this this game so much, for every gaming event like the game awards or gamescom, I beg the CM of capcom USA on insta to bring it back. This is the kind of game that don't need complexity, to be great!
i already played it on ps3, and i absolutely loved it, its one of my favorite games. mainly because of the action, they outdid themselves with the action, and i have never seen it be done in this fashion. so its sad that its still stuck on ps3/xbox 360, and capcom doesnt seem to have any interest in it anymore. i really hope this game can get a second chance, so more people can enjoy it
Those games also need your vote!

Drakengard
DrakengardDrakengard follows the story of a kingdomless prince named Caim who fights for the Union against the Empire. Under the Union's protection are the Hierarchs and the Goddess, currently Caim's sister Furiae, who is a human manifestation of one of the four seals that protect the world from being broken. As the game begins, Cain is fatally wounded in a battle with the Empire. Encountering a captured Red Dragon who is also near death, Caim makes a fateful choice. In exchange for both their lives, the Red Dragon and Caim will enter a pact. This pact will forever chain their lives to one another and link their souls, at the cost of something irreplaceable. Recharged with the fires of a Dragon, Caim's vengeance burns over the enemy... The player controls Caim on his quest. The game is separated into three distinct modes: Aerial combat, Ground combat and Event Combat. In Aerial Combat, Caim rides dragonback against a variety of airborne foes breathing fireballs (strong single shots and weaker multiple lock-on shots). The Dragon is agile and is able to evade incoming threats, turning around completely in a moment. In Ground combat, the game is shown in 3rd person though usually large, open areas. Controlling Caim, his primary ability is the use of a variety of weapons found on the battlefield. These are leveled up through continued usage, and specifically through the killing of individual enemies. Though magic (determined by weapon choice), timed attacks and evasion, Caim breaks through enemy armies. Characters recruited as allies by Caim can also be summoned during battles, steadily losing health until control is returned to Caim. In ground combat, Caim may also call forth his Dragon to ride and strafe enemies from the air. The Dragon's movements are generally the same as in aerial combat but more limited and less agile. Event combat is similar to Ground combat, but shown isometrically, restricted to a single weapon and without the aid of a dragon. It is used mainly to tell story sequences. Levels that have been visited before might become "Expedition Missions" which are optional and contain new objectives, enemies and weapons. Additionally, any level previously played in the storyline may be revisited at any time. Depending on Caim's choices (and prerequisites for those choices), there are five different endings to Drakengard.
