... until there's a patch/mod that wipes away the horribly clunky control scheme currently present. After W1, Geralt/W2 feels like a cripple.

Or should I just install the God Mode mod?
If you're so bad at video games that you need a God Mode for any game - you should probably pick up knitting or something.

And how does that mod solve your "horribly clunky control scheme" issue?
It sounds like Dungeon Keeper is your best option.
another STATS=WIN guy

I liked what CDPR did blending the actual skill of the player with stats you still have to be alert and experienced to win even with good stats (except for Quen it's overpowered like FFUU)

If you are like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCjzA-C647o&feature=player_embedded#at=76

You are doing it wrong. Witcher 1 combat was a QTE and was really simple. This game takes some gaming skills and tactics to play.
thats actually kinda weird to say hes a cripple

if anything, geralt is now a circle clown, with all his rolls and dives and spins... id imagine anyone watching a WITCHER 2 geralt battle would probably be rolling around laughing on the ground seeing a grown-up badass with a sword doing lots of dives and rolling around like a cheeky monkey while the grumbly zookeepers try and catch him :D

that being said, just give it some time. i think like a lot of people, i hated the controls and the new combat when i started too. stick with it, and it becomes quite enjoyable - its definately a move in the right direction for the game.. i mean while the first game was better in almost every aspect, this game does make the combat much more interesting - its not perfect by a long shot, but its atleast more involving and dynamic than that in the original.
I loved the Witcher 1's combat(reminded me of a fantastic PSone game- Vagrant Story), but this new combat system is definitely alot better/rewarding. Especially as far as the visuals/sound design go, when Geralt hit's something with his sword it looks/feels/sounds like your hacking at flesh with a blade. It's insanely epic and satisfying.

Took me the entirety of ACT1 to get the hang of it and even then I still would get caught up in trying to do something stupid(like button mashing).
I can play with the new style (I'm at the end of Chapter 1), I just don't want to, being already annoyed enough by the bad UI, and the overall console'ism.

Anyways it's significantly better now with godmode (still interested in the story), so thanks for all the input!
Sounds to me like you were looking for an excuse to use godmode. lol.
Post it in Dungeon Keeper forums?
Nah, still can't play. Too much black loading screens, too much input delays. And now Letho outruns Geralt, while he just lays there, chillin'. Seriously, what.

Dungeon Keeper? Sound more like Tetris would be an option...umm...ok, not even sure about that.

I humbly beg your pardon for posting about my experience with the game.

Dude I've nearly finished the game with all the bad aspects you mentioned. If letho was a bad ass, wait until a bunch of ghouls surround your ass, than I'll take god mode is the only option AND excuse for you.
And believe it or not, i'm still using patch 1.1 :)

deci nu mai folosi god mode!

Your original post was a whiny cop-out, not a serious analysis of the cons of the game.

You didn't explain what problems you've been having aside from some incredibly vague reference to a "clunky" control scheme. You know that's probably not normal, right? Rather than asking for help, you came on to a forum for a game you clearly dislike in order to announce that you were going to play another game, instead. That's like me knocking on your door, waiting for you to answer, then being like, "I didn't enjoy your post. I'm going to Antarctica for better conversation!"

No one cares. Quitcha trollin'.
