Here's the deal: you write a review for a game I choose, and the best one gets a free GOG game of his/her choice. But instead of a review for a GOG game, I want you to review one of modern man's greatest achievements: Plants vs Zombies. You can just review the demo, since it's basically a 60 minute version of the full game.
The greatest review will also be posted here (FOR GREAT JUSTICE), unless you don't want me to. Deadline for the entries is next Saturday (16th of May), 12:00 AM EDT. Send entries in email in .doc, .docx, LaTeX, or RTF to leung [dot] mleung [at] gmail [dot] com.Get to it!

if I've never played it, can I just say "I've heard its okay for whatever type of game it is"?
No. You have to at least try out the first two "chapters".
Does it have to be a positive review? I have to say, I was suitably bored, even for a game that not only had good-guy plants but zombies too. Perhaps I just like a more complicated tower-defence game, but I really found there not to be much to be excited about...
2) what about plain ol' txt as a format? Extra Formatting? pah! :)
Nope, negative reviews are welcome too, as long as it has CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
Weird game to pick for a review. It's a casual game - there are many core gamers out there who will not enjoy Plants vs. Zombies.
Since you obviously like the game, everybody who writes a less than 8/10 review for this game, perhaps based on it being too casual or too childish for their taste, have no chance of winning the prize you're offering since you're not exactly unbiased.

Plants vs Zombies is as casual a game as Saints Row 2, Half Life 2 and any other game that lets you pick it up for a few mins at a time then save whenever you want.

Just curious: Is there any game you would not count as 'casual'? While I agree with you that games can be played 'casually', the word is used to (at least somewhat) band a group of games under itself and not others.

The word casual applies more to a sub-genre of games, often featuring simple game mechanics, graphics, and sound, and often made by indie developers, more than the fact that, yes, in principle, you can deem any game casual as in most situations you're playing it of your own free will.

No, I will review reviews based on content, grammar, and such. Filler and scores are ignored.
I did play the 60 minutes trial and i found the game to be pretty fun , i might participate.
