I'd like to point out a very enjoyable indie game that was just released: Three Cards to Midnight. It's sort of hidden-object (you get keywords and have to click on items that are associated with them) mixed with brainteasing puzzles. The puzzles are great fun, but the real highlight is the amazing story.
Oh, and it was made by the people who created Tex Murphy. The guy who played Tex is even in the game. I notice they're working on two new projects, including one called "Project Fedora". I can only hope they get enough sales to support themselves as indies, so we get to find out what it is...

Not really surprising, as tablets are a niche product and more expensive than other laptops. The major manufacturers still make them, though they may be targeted more at the business market (at least mine was).

Here are a few indie games that I know of, i've played all of these titles and enjoyed them all.
Harvest Massive Encounter(.99)(demo available) Which is kinda like a tower defense game, but better and different from the rest.
Little Fighters 2(free) A fun multiplayer brawler fighting game,it's nothing like SSBB.
TeeWorlds(free) A seemingly cute but awesome 2D online multiplayer shooting game!
Mr.Robot(.99)(demo available) A very fun and original isometric RPG. I loved every moment of this game!
La-Mulana(free) A very fun retro styled 2D action adventure game. This game may frustrate some since the puzzles and riddles in the game can be quite hard to figure out .
Soldat(free) Another great 2D online multiplayer game, but this one is not for the kiddies.

Defense grid: the awakening is a pretty fun indie tower defense game. It's on sale for 5 bucks over at Steam, i had to buy it at that price.

Dominions 3. Incredibly deep turn-based wargame. Whatever spell/ability you can think of, it's probably in there. Phone book sized manual with developer commentary throughout is a good thing. Shines in multiplayer.
Dangerous High School Girls In Trouble. No it's not a hentai game. Fun boardgame-styled adventure/lite RPG-ish romp.
Geneforges and Avernums. Shut up about graphics, you sissy. You play Dwarf Fortress don't you? The gameplay's where it's at and these games have got it. The Avernums are more plot centric while the Geneforge's leave much choices and consequences to the player.
The Chzo Mythos/Trilby Series. From the guy that does Zero Punctuation (yes, that guy), some quick, fun old school adventure style romps. They're all freeware/donationware.

I just read the whole thread more carefully and noticed that tor had already mentioned Aquaria. The first couple of times i read this i focused more on the posts with links so i ended up missing that reference somehow. Sorry about that tor. BTW, do get Aquaria when you have the chance because it's great.

Gish. Also a good platformer with fun little jelly physics/mechanics. Takes a while to get skilled with handling your lovable ball of tar and his different skill combinations, but once you do, the game is sublime.
Spelunky. From the guy that did Aquaria (mentioned above). Still in beta but definitely playable. Platformer meets Nethack/Rogue.
King of Dragon Pass. Best way to describe it is as a fantasy strategy game where you roleplay an entire clan.

Ah yes that game, I loved the demo. Too bad the game slows down at some areas for me, cause my pc is quite dated..

I feel almost ashamed to confess that i didn't finished it yet.
My 'to play' list is getting out of hand and stuff keeps falling through the cracks every day. But i did play it almost non stop for a couple of days and i loved it.
I'm currently dealing with Sacred and Cryostasis, next is Fallout 2, and after that is Aquaria. This time i won't put it down untill i finish it :)

At $10, it has infinite replay value, and can fit multiple moods and play styles.
In the mood for smooth, easy relaxing game play? Play Mono on a slower song.
In the mood for sheer insanity? Play Double Vision Elite on a fast song (like Through the Fire and the Flames.)

I wish Audiosurf would have a web-based stats page that told me what songs I've been playing since I started playing Audiosurf.
