PastramiX: I'm surprised that they were able to do this. I would've suspected that Nintendo would intervene, seeing as PD was originally on the N64 first.
Either way, I guess this means no more GoldenEye and DK 64 on Virtual Console. :(
Unless I've misunderstood the situation, with goldeneye nintendo were a co-owner of the game along with rare and the licence holder was EON productions. The problem is that rare is owned my microsoft, the game part owned my nintendo, the IP owned by EON, firther complicating matter is the fact that the current game rights to the bond franchise is owned by activision and that may be complicating matters. I'm not sure how it works in these cases, the release of an xbla or wii port of goldeneye might count as a re-release or might count as a new game and if activision hold the sole rights for publishing new games, they might be able to block it
As far as I understand it, Perfect Dark is entirely owned by Rare and they can do whatever the hell they want with it. Personally Im hoping for a remake rather than a straight port, classic gameplay and pretty graphics are a good combo. Hopefully if it does come out, the achievements won't be all multiplayer grind, those suck balls.
