michaelleung: It sucks to see good developers let go and being forced to flip burgers in today's economy.

chautemoc: We should start a fund for those guys.

I already bought FO on GOG by sheer generosity since I already owned it and most of its bonus content.

Paul_cz: All funds and manpower have been redirected to a single project, The Witcher 2, which will be a multi-platform title for PC and consoles.

Oh wow, what sellouts. Whatever happened to good PC exclusives? (this is assuming that this part was true)

Wow, I can honestly say I have never heard of them and after checking their website, I can see why. Pretty much the only game they've done that I might have heard of was Dead to Rights 2 and I never played that one.
However, I have to wonder why a different engine was even needed for a console adaptation. BioWare's Aurora Engine, which was used for the PC version, is console compatible.

The way I understand it, the console version has a directly interactive combat system (presumably in the form of a third-person action RPG), which wouldn't work all that well with Aurora (even after CD Projekt's extensive modification).

PC exclusives are dead due to "piracy" and because the consoleers whine and moan about not getting any games...

Dont really get the big deal about exclusives. I couldnt care less whether or not console owners play any games I play on PC. Actually, I'm glad they do...it means more people are experiencing it, and more money for the developer to put into support, future projects etc.
Don't know why people take it personally -- it's mainly a business decision...just by entering your game into the world of business you're a sellout, by that logic. :P
Game is officially cancelle. Here is the comment from Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt RED:
“This decision was one of the hardest we’ve ever had to make as a company. We have put our hearts, a lot of our time and energy into this project. Because of that, development was in a very advanced stage. However, there was serious danger that we would miss our target release date, but more importantly to us, that the project would not meet our own expectations of quality. Our main goal is always to make every release better than the previous one. Unfortunately, this project was not going in the right direction. We are now looking into all possible scenarios, and we will do all we can to retain our fans’ confidence in us. We simply will not let them down; the quality of our games remains the highest priority.”
