Theresa May to implement ‘North Korean style’ censorship on British internet.

Not content with killing the sick & disabled, nor with closing down far too many hospitals for sick & mental health patients & being the first country investigated & found guilty by the UN for human rights crimes, now they're after the internet...

Theresa May to create new internet that would be controlled and regulated by government.

It's only a matter of time until even VPNs will end up illegal over here at this rate too.

" Change Kingdom to Korea & turn that U upside down into an n & it was there in front of us all along... "
and to think it started off as such a pleasant calm day in here.
Yes. North Korea and United Kingdom are exactly the same. Exactly.

Thanks for the most moronic thread title of the month.

I find the conservatives to be absolutely unforgivably disgusting, amoral, reprehensible and delusional, but to say it's on the same level as North Korea is a bit of a stretch
Just out of curiosity... you mean to say that the UK, out of ALL of the choices among nation governing bodies are the ONLY ones convicted of human rights violations?

Not to disagree, I'm sure that their management has done wrong at some point, but you are comparing them to North Korea, a nation with a governing body infamous for committing unspeakable crimes against its citizens for the lulz, that coincidentally has not been convicted of such violations?

Ok.
Does this mean we can eradicate Blair using an anti-aircraft gun?

Edit, you can replace Blair with Corbyn if you like, or actually get both of them.

I have a game I would like to gift the OP for his vigilance and cool, matter of fact reasonable tone.

Maybe the UK wants to have their own Internet just for themselves, on their own little island, which will be isolated by the rest of the world :P. Except Scotland, who will join the EU of course. But maybe they'll reinforce Hadrian's wall to keep their people from running off.
So this is how the UK fades from the public. Blotted out by it's own ink.

I for one, welcome angry Scottish liberal overlords. Liberal, as in socially and fiscally liberal, not the party.

We need more hyperbole! Why only from the public? From all memory! From the face of the world! The island is literally going to sink, like Atlantis! And what comes after will be known as... The Hyperbolian Age. And unto this, Fishbaits, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Tabloids upon a clickbait headline.

Seriously guys, I'm all for keeping close watch on what governments are doing, but is this, panicky tabloid articles about possible, as of yet undefined legislation, really enough for you to go all "well, the country is doomed, run for the hills"? Because if that's the case, I sure hope you live in a well stocked bunker, cause I could find you every day a few equally solid articles about the apocalypse coming tomorrow at the latest.
I'm running out of countries in here. I guess I could go back to Canada.

Comparing the UK with North Korea was an intentional exaggeration, to get a point across. I don't understand why some folks get so uptight just because the OP worded it a bit strongly.

Yeah, he could have written something wishy-washy like "I respectfully disagree with UK's IT policy" but is that the kind of forum we want?

The title is honest and shows where the OP stands.
One note to consider the main internet service cables between western Europe and the US run through the UK, and given how desperate (with brexit) and generally insane they are (just google Boris Johnson) it would not surprise me if they tried to tamper or cut these as leverage. It would be very expensive and take a long time to lay new cables an reroute the old services, but they can't do any of the things they have suggested till we leave the EU. They tried to impose laws like this last year but the EU's laws stopped them.

Edit, Of a point this has just been announced today as a possible future plan, it may never happen. Politicians lie and go back on promises all the time when they think they will get them elected.
