Is there a way to update games, in my case Hollow Knight, without reinstalling the .sh file ?
Well, with Hollow Knight it's not a big deal cause the game is only 1go large, but if I have to reinstall every game only to update them, it would be a bit....strange. By exemple, having the reinstall The Witcher 3 only to update it is a bit... stupid ? And, not everyone has a good and limitless internet connection.

So, is there another way ? Thank you !

GOG only provides Linux patches for very few games.
Usually you have to re-download the full installer and re-install it.
You can try to contact GOG Support, but I do not think they will change much soon.

Patches themselves seem to be rare as a whole on gog, even windows. But, this is why i don't update large games if i'm in the middle of a playthough.

That's a strange choice and, maybe even a deal killer that they do this. It's surprising that there is so much lack of effort put in linux considering that gog is drm free. Does somebody know why ? Philosophy reason, budget ?

Their core stance is DRM-free. Mac OS X and Linux support came later. They claim that people got confused about "which updates do I need to install?" and thus they mostly only support patching through Galaxy (where you barely choose anything, but let the application do most stuff for you).

The fact that Galaxy isn't released for Linux yet is a different question though. I'd love if they were a bit more open with how far they've come with that (not that I'll use it, I enjoy stand-alone installers).

Yeah, it would be nice if GOG just had a repro or some kind of delta update program instead of this tedious nonsense of reinstalling everything.

GOG's way of listing the files and patches is also confusing. There are several sites which can be looked at for examples of good ways where they even have the older patches left up, unlike GOG where you are left out in the cold if you missed a single patch once, that might have only been up for a day.
