He kind of became a bad punchline in his later years but his contributions to comedy and entertainment as a whole, from all aspects, are timeless.

yep a great entertainer and all around good person gone, will miss his talent and generosity. Sadly he goes the way of all people, many before him and many more after.

Though I never liked his humor, I know that he brought joy to many people, he will be missed. It's probably because I haven't seen his better work. Just now, as I have always have, I confused him with Jerry Lee Lewis, so hopefully this will be the last time for a long time, that my heart sinks at hearing such awful news.
