(FF stands for Final Fantasy here)
FF11: Final Fantasy Online
FF12: FF11
FF13: FF12
FF14: Final Fantasy Online 2
FF15: FF13
(The FF13 sequels would, of course, have to be changed to FF12)
The idea here is to make the MMORPGs a separate series, because they're not really the same type of game, and I would imagine that there isn't that much overlap between the fanbases. (Anyone care to fact check this claim and prove me wrong?)
I could also do:
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island would be renamed to Yoshi's Island (removing the SMW2) because it really doesn't play like a Mario game. Then again, neither does Super Mario 64, so I don't know what to call it.
We could also do:
Kirby's Avalanche: Puyo Puyo Kirby
Dr. Robotnick's Mean Bean Machine: Puyo Puyo Eggman (or perhaps Eggman's Puyo Puyo machine)
Tetris Attack: Yoshi's Puzzle League (This is probably what the game would be called if it were released today)
Can't think of any genres I would rename, though I would be more strict about what I would call an RPG than most people seem to be. On the other hand, many games that are typically called JRPGs are really JRPG/VN (Visual Novel) hybrids just because they're so cutscene heavy, and some WRPGs may be more WRPG/Adventure hybrids (though not to the extent of the previous example).
