I'm not sure I understood your question correctly, but:
You don't need to move GOG Galaxy app at all. Just backup game files that you need. :)
You can just download GOG Galaxy installer from the website, install it, run and then use scan&import (in the top-left logo menu dropdown) function to index your games.
If you wish, you can also jump to GOG Galaxy 1.2 version to sync your saves to the cloud (here's a list of games that have Cloud Storage support in Galaxy 1.2: link to the list).
To do that - enable preview updates in the app settings, restart the app and run games you want to sync saves for, make sure you can see "Cloud saves synced" under the game title.
