Has there been any advancement on either of these two projects? I've got a fairly good sized collection of physical copies of classic games that I can't get to run on my Win7 system at all, and not much budget to rebuy them since most ARE on GOG at this point.

And no, I'm not looking for a free ride, both programs require I have a valid key, which I fully endorse. But Reclaim hasn't had a new title added in over two years, and Connect doesn't look like it EVER actually worked, according to the various forum entries I spotted.

Connect: Its a limited system, a gimmick if you will, to pull people in from Steam. It is up to the devs if they allow it or not. Rarely does it come up and its only for a limited time so look for next time it comes up. Also its not for physical copies.

Redeem: Again, its a one off special here and there, getting IP from devs is difficult to say the least, then asking them to get nothing from it even harder. Hence why there is a limited amount. Its nice, but I wouldn't expect much on this front.

My suggestion, get things when they are free, or on special where you can. Alternatively put the effort in yourself to get them working. I have rarely found a game that would not run on either Win7/10 without some tweaking, patching, modding, and such like.

While I don't use connect, it looks like it works in time limited manner. Titles seem to be available for a limited time to redeem.

Reclaim hasn't been around and is presumed dead.

Connect did wok, does work and gets new titles occasionally. Granted there are problems from time to time.
Gog Connect is working as intended. While it's time limited in total over 100 games have been offered:

Ya there were some issues with the steam api so some people had to wait a few days until the could redeem certain (hence the posts on the gog connect problems in the forum) games but in general it works just fine.
Gog Connect will always be time limited and not preannoucned and we wont know which games to expect and when. This intended by Gog as if it would be clear that game xyz of publisher abc might come to connect soon people will just keep buying on steam and gog earns 0. (This is the reason why i actually hate connect as it basically gives a small incentive to buy on steam and on the other hand doesnt reward "loyal" gog buyers at all)

More games on reclaim is pretty unlikely as it is a really huge effort to get publishers/dev to agree on it and also verifiy the owned keys. Also for older games even the publishers might not even have the complete list of Keys anymore to verify ownership. Also this is actually a "free ride" as gog wont earn anything for this and will have to invest a lot of time talking to the ip owners and verifying the game ownership (meaning most likely pictures of the game box together with the key or such) which will incur costs in personal and they also might have to pay the publisher a compensation. So ya i would say reclaim is pretty dead
