I 2nd **Dead or Alive 2** and I would like to add that Virtua Fighter 3tb is excellent. Those are the only 2 games that I can tell you hold up and superior to their other versions.

If you have friends to play with you, Chu Chu Rocket is great fun.

The Dreamcast version of Crazy Taxi is the best one out there as well.

One of my favorites just for the puzzle mode, though (single-player). The GBA version is better, though, as it includes all of the DC levels plus hundreds more user-designed levels.

I am not an action fan, so my recommendations are Skies of Arcadia (already mentioned, but the Game Cube remake has additional content) and Evolution 1 & 2 (sort of superseded on the GC as well with Evolution Worlds) and Grandia II (although you get most of the experience with the PC version sold here). Also, the unpopular Time Stalkers. For slightly more action I guess Blue Stinger and Draconus - Cult of the Wyrm weren't bad.

I gave my DC to my parents and lost my GBA and GC in a fire, but I still play these games on occasion using free, open source emulators.

I'm actually with you on that one. The old pc port (retail) brought graphical improvements in the form of DX9a feature support (or maybe b). Nostalgia goggles aside, it was a decent launch title. Not decent enough for me to consider any of the ports or even replay my original, mind you. Note how i'm leaving Adventure 2 out of this conversation. Reasons.

But hey the english dubs are....amusing? Ha.

Good place to start is the game list on wikipedia, keep in mind some suggestions are going to be a bit more unique than others and for different reasons.

"Seaman" is interesting as a kind of life and ecosimulator. It's a very slow paced game that was voiced by Leonard Nimoy, but is definitely not for everyone. It's at least worth a look on youtube (or Angry Video Game Nerd review).

If you have interest, Dreamcast had a number of interesting movie licensed games if you have an interest in those kind of games.

"Fur Fighters" was a puzzle platform shooter game that I had fun with, though it's important to take breaks since it starts you off with a higher difficulty curve and large levels. An updated version was released on PS2 with voice acting, but I almost prefer the silly animal noises for character dialogue than speaking.

"Jet Set Radio" is a unique grafitti skating game, and is one of the more popular games that came from Dreamcast.

If you have interest in anime, "Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage" may be worth a look as an action hack n' slash.

"Power Stone" is good if you have friends who can fight with you.

"Space Channel 5" is good if you have any interest in rhythm style games like 'DDR'.

And for party games that make you and your friends want to murder each other, there's "Sonic Shuffle", a Mario Party style board game with mini games, board events and combat. However, unlike Mario Party, games are by event progression rather than by turn progression, so individual boards can vary drastic in length.

Yes, yes it is. The game features a self contained offline mode which can be played solo.

If you ask me tho, you are better off getting PSO episode 1+2 (one package) for the Gamecube. Much more content and all the balancing changes since the DC original.

Dungeon gameplay is similar to Evolution.

You are right, the servers were shut down years ago, but people still plays online on private servers on the original PSO v.2 and the windows version (PSOBB).
