Well, I played the Desperados demo a looong time before realizing that you could reload weapons (in the full game you actually learn this in the first tutorial level).
Beating a whole level with 6 bullets only makes for an interesting challenge ;)

Actually even know I tend not to use firearms a lot in this game, I guess my ignorance during my first plays still has an influence on my play style…

Not really related to Prince of Persia, but I thought it was a quite funny omission to share in this discussion ;)
Aaah! So that is how everyone else manages to jump so much higher and further than me in BloodRayne. Now it should be a bag of blood to reach that first boss monster.
And to all Prince fans, here is something you might be interested in. From the creator's blog.

Fairfox: I didn't know you could save in Prince of Persia. I didn't know you couldn't save in Prince of Persia. I don't really know Prince of Persia. But I'm pleased you can save in it... unless it's not a good thing you can, in which case, booooo. I'm just trying to be accommodating.
dafuq? You're not typing in your telltale style. WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH FAIRFOX???!!!!!!11one1

I played Arkanoid a lot. Then I suddenly discovered that you could jump to any level by pressing F10(?)

That kind of broke the game for me, as I constantly strived to delve deeper and discover new levels, and now I could just see them all. But it did enable me to design my own levels, which were pretty fun.
... and finished it. With saves.

Another childhood game finished after years. Wow...
Yeah, I knew. The most useless savegame, for me, considering that after decades of practice I'm able to casually finish the game in 30 minutes or so...
