I'm in Idaho Falls, woot!

BTW, looking at the sun during the totality is perfectly safe.
Currently en route to Tennessee to see the Total Eclipse. Gonna be epic! :D
raining here :P
73% coverage here, but we've got thick cloud cover. If it doesn't burn off in the next half hour we're not going to get much of a show.
I remember seeing one in 1999. To first timers I can only say: hope for good weather and don't expect much - it's not really that spectacular.

The only irregular thing is the rather short period of midday darkness that would have probably freaked out a lot of people in the past centuries. "Woe is me, the end has come. We're all going to die!", and stuff like that :P.

Yeah, I remember that one as well, just as you wrote, it was a total disappointment. Just got a bit darker than usual, but more along the lines of what you'd expect in stormy weather than anything more impressive.
Ummmmm guys, I don't think that's the moon.
Rain, lightning and hail over here. It's about 100°F here too. Crazy weather is typical for the Mojave. Something Bethesda LIED about - clear and sunny everyday my ass :D

Well, the total eclipse, or should I say the 99.2% of it, just happened here. Quite underwhelming really. It's pretty much what I expected it to be. I give it one big *shrug*.
I guess im more excited about the android oreo anouncement which coincides with the eclipse. I did watch a video when someone burnt the camera while pointing his pro kit at the sun. He was giving safety advice like use the correct filter and dont look with your eye. Magic is real! :)

dtgreene: One reminder: Don't look into the sun. Even if the sun is covered by an eclipse, looking into it can damage your eyes.

If you *really* want to look at the sun today, make sure to get special protection (sunglasses aren't enough); this typically means getting special eclipse glasses or finding a place where they have a special telescope that you can use.
Bagh! That's just superstition. I just watched the whole thing, 98% coverage where I live, my eyes are fine at least for peripheral vision anyways. However if for some reason my eyes stay this way, well I watched the eclipse while at work, so Workers Comp!!

I have to get my mind out of the gutter. When I clicked on that I was expecting some booty. And by that I mean pirate booty.
