It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Especially when downloading stuff from gog.
Well first step would be some details as to what is occurring.....

Are you downloading via GoG Galaxy? The old GoG Downloader?

OS? Windows 10? iOS? Pants around belly button Linux?

What is your provider?

DO you have anything else running n the background?

What speeds are you getting?

Firewall?

etc....

Friendly reminder that only you can see what is occurring. All we can do is make guesses if we don;t have anything to go on.

edit: Also this would be a good start:

Win7, I'm using both gog galaxy and classic way, I get 1 MB speed give or take, I don't know do I have firewall active, but I only have Avast running.
I'm in Europe, so provider info won't really help.

GOG Galaxy download speed is significantly higher than downloading from browser. For browser you may use specific download manager (Google it). No other ways i know of.

How's that 1MB compare to a speed test? (and don't say 8 Mb)

According to that screenshot your max download is about 1.5MB. There are 8 Mb in a MB (b=bits and B=Bytes).

So short of paying more for faster service you're probably maxing out your download speed already.

I don't think that's true, I have a 100m/bit connection and my GOG browser downloads are always at max speed.
The changelog for the latest Galaxy version notes that they changed the default number download threads from 10 to 32 which

should improve download speeds at the cost of CPU usage.

If I'm gonna to do that I might as well get rid of the computer.
Here is a decent online tool: How long will it take to download?

Your 12 Mbps ideally takes 12 minutes to download 1 GB of file. But from your speedtest, its your upload speed that's less than good. Uploading to youtube must've been a pain.

Here are the steps:

1. Contact your internet operator.

2. Tell them "I want a faster internet!".

3. If they say "But you already have the fastest one we offer.", say "Screw you! I'm going to your competitor. Hasta la pasta, baby!".

4. If it turns out your ex-internet operator had actually monopoly in your area (no competitors) or none of the competitors offer any faster speeds, then go back to your old ISP and apologize for your rudeness.
