There's a black friday sale, even Threadripper is getting discounted.

Shame memory is still stupidly over priced though :/

"We have received reports from the Nordics and the UK that the price drops are in effect there as well. USA Newegg is also showing lower prices. And a report from Australia just came in as well, this is a worldwide price drop. We asked, but AMD has no comments currently on what we are seeing."

Such a good deal. If only I wasn't forced to buy my ryzen 4 months ago.

Forced?

I feel your pain too. I paid 2369kr for my Ryzen 1600 this summer. Now they sell it for 1795kr. It hurts..

I laughed so hard. :D

I don't regret getting my 1700 when I did... if I'd waited much longer then I'd be paying even more for my system overall because the prices of some other components have increased. e.g.: When I bought the RAM for my system it was ~£120 for 16GB (and even then that was pretty expensive as prices had been rising for some time; I was originally planning on 32GB for this system but had to settle for 16 instead). Now the same RAM costs more than £210. SSD prices have also gone up a bit, although not to the extent that RAM has.

The motherboard from my old computer burned out. I urgently needed to buy my current system. I'm not complaining about the system being bad, it's a great one, but I had to overspend on it, and i didn't even get to buy my dream parts because they were out of stock. It's frustrating that instead of enjoying a new system, I'm constantly reminded that it's suboptimal.

That's also one of the things had to do. The prices were ridiculous now four months ago, and still are.

Maybe use the deals and get yourself what you want at a good price ;) I'm sure your current parts is a easy resell.

Also.. I just checked the price of the RAM I bought. Whew.. I paid 1080kr for it then. Now it's 1700kr.. That's plain crazy.
More for your AMD gfx cards if you have them, but wow! AMD have pulled out all the stops with this update!

Any idea of the reason for price increase? Has any southeast Asia factory become flooded or something similar?

The production of mobile devices which started using DDR4 RAM is being so big that the demand is outstripping supply.
Yep, all these smart phones are nabbing insane amounts of memory. Made worse because so many upgrade to a new phone, despite having a barely one year old phone because...well, it's new

I ended up purchasing some DDR4 Nighthawk 16gb, pennies short of £200, which was £149 a couple of months before.
Even during the black Friday sale load of memory just kept going up in price.

I guess the only thing that could help now is DDR5 & 6 being released, as I doubt mobiles would suddenly swap over to that over DDR4....I hope.

Having said that, I wouldn't put it past some makers slowing production to push up prices sky higher.

Pretty impressive the Radeon software. I like it, especially the Chill function.

Been using that for a while, although was limited to only some games before, now it's any games.
Such a simple idea, amazed hadn't been done before :D

Tried the mobile app, no joy for me.
Not sure if just not working or if it requires wifi only. Shall try again tomorrow when crawl in. Be good if it works, but I already have Logitech ARX which does some of the things the new AMD app does, so no major loss :)

Wow! I really had no idea. It is true they are putting more and more RAM on those things (which are computers, after all).

No way! That does not seem to be expected before 2020! This price escalation cannot continue until then. I want to put together a new machine before then!
